2024 blockers

Does consideration of electric cars remain despite disruptive macro factors? And what are the key trends in 2024? ​

The cost of EVs is the biggest barrier to purchase – with 38% suggesting this is a blocker ​

This is followed by worries about range and infrastructure (both 36%)​

Other blockers include taking too long to charge and customers’ inability to have a home charger​

7 out of 10 of those looking to buy a car for £30k+ state that their car buying has not been affected by the UK’s cost-of-living crisis

EV buyers are half as likely to be affected by the cost-of-living crisis​

online services

The move towards the use of online car buying services was accelerated by Covid and remains in growth. 30% would now consider buying online vs 15% in 2022​
